Nomoria History and Council Lore
Planetary Overview: Currently Planet Nomoria is compromised of 30 recognized Vampire Clans. Strength of clan is measured by their contribution to Vampire Society: culture, science, & military strength. The strongest Vampire clans tend to be the ones that manage their humans the most effectively (this doesn’t mean kindly).
Vampires as a species: Can live for thousands of years. Recorded history states the oldest Nomorian Vampire was 27,000 years old before she died. She is revered among Vampires. She is considered the mother of Nomorian Vampires, and hers is the only statue in the Vampire High Council hall.
Present Day, Nomorian Vampires live 7,000 years on average though it varies. Some Vampire Scholars have argued that how long a Nomorian Vampire lives depends upon quality of life.
Vampires are as varied as humans, though most are born with magical abilities of a sort. Shape shifting and natural healing abilities are the most common. Additional abilities can be super strength, super speed, telekinesis, telepathy, and energy manipulation. It is not unheard of for Nomorian Vampires to born without magical abilities, though it’s rare and most Vampire’s have some form of magic, even disabled Vampires.
Humans as a species: Before TGB (The Great Betrayal referenced below) Human’s were as strong as Vampires and also were blessed with other forms of magical ability. Typically for humans speed, telekinesis, and telepathy were the most common.
After the TGB, Humans were genetically altered en-masse. Their DNA was damaged to make them physically weaker, their life spans drastically shortened, and neural pathways cut off to prevent them from accessing any magical abilities.
The Akashic Chamber: On Planet Nomoria exists a chamber made up of soul crystals. Every single Vampire and Human on Nomoria has a soul crystal. These crystals contain the entirety of lived experiences of that soul across multiple lifetimes.
Before the event known as The Great Betrayal: Vampires and Humans co-existed peacefully on Nomoria. For hundreds of centuries a Joint Council of Human and Vampire Affairs brought these two races together and kept the planet living in harmony. Nomoria was highly regarded among it’s peers in the Galactic community and trade among other planetary nations was abundant.
It is still unknown why the divide started that led to The Great Betrayal but during the time of unrest there were theories. Chief among them, i was speculated that tensions began in the years after a delegation of Vampire and Humans visited the Milky Way Galaxy. Oddly, there were unconfirmed reports of members of that delegation speaking of having terrible nightmares of an entity they called The Demiurge. This however was the most controversial theory, and it was more commonly accepted at the time that it was simply the natural progression of a species, that no Utopia could last forever.
No matter the cause 4,000 years ago from present day two extremist factions emerged. Both these factions were a minority, but they were loud and bold in their messaging.
The faction of humans, calling themselves the H.A.V. (Humans Against Vampires) argued Vampires were a toxic, cancerous species, that was unnatural to the natural order of life, as the very Sun rejected them. They argued that Vampires as a species must be eradicated entirely to protect humans and the natural order of things.
On the flip side, a council of Vampire’s formed (they need a cool name too). They argued because Vampires needed humans to live, humans were beneath Vampires, and clearly Vampires were the superior race. They no longer saw equality as a good thing, and decided that all humans must be subjected and made to serve Vampires, who were clearly the superior species. That it was only a matter of time before human’s murdered Vampires while they slept, and if Vampires did not subjugate humans immediately, it would lead to the death of all Vampires.
Every act from either side of these extremists further fueled their propaganda. Relations became strained, with the Joint Council of Human and Vampire Affairs struggling to figure out the best way to combat the loud and extremely organized minority groups.
The Great Betrayal: All this came to a head when a delegation from a race known as The Anunnaki visited planet Nomoria. The Anunnaki were a race of scientist and conquerors. War like. The extremist Vampire Council held secret meetings with the Anunnaki and finally the worst happened.
The extremist Vampire Council sent an ultimatum to the Joint Council demanding their ways be enacted or the planet would go to war. The Joint Council tried for peace but ultimately their diplomacy failed and a terrible war waged across Nomoria. With the additional forces by provided by The Anunnaki, the Vampire extremists won and enacted a terrible price upon the planet.
Using Annunaki technology a bomb was dropped over the human populations of Nomoria, wrecking havoc on human genes, resulting in the current day state of humans. Vampires were forced to submit to the new extremist order, or have their clans wiped out.
But The Great Betrayal wasn’t done. Two Vampire families decided what had been done must not only be erased from the history books, but from the minds of Vampires. Vampires must believe the new order had always been the way of things.
With the aid of The Anunnaki Scientists and Vampire Magic the holy device that was The Holon was temporarily corrupted. Pyramid like structures were built in key locations around Nomoria. When their construction was complete, one evening, without consent, all minds of Vampires were altered. Memories changed and a new history was provided. The past was literally erased.
The consequences were massive. Many Elder Vampires went insane and died. For a thousand years, a great illness swept through Vampires, leading to heightened aggression, and much shorter life spans.
But eventually, the lie seeped in deep enough Vampire minds accepted it as truth, and humans with their now extremely shortened life spans would eventually only know slavery and nothing else.
After the thousand year illness ended, the Pyramids were rendered inoperable, and The Holon repaired itself. You can still find the ruins of these Pyramids across Nomoria.
The two responsible, the only two Vampires who knew the truth were Andere Viscadi and Nefarta Vires.
The New Order: Elder Vampires that survived The Great Betrayal and The Great Illness were appointed to the new government of Nomoria. The leaders of the Oldest (surviving) Vampire clans were were The Elders, the final votes in all Vampire matters. There are 5 in total.
From the other Vampire clans across Nomoria, the top 7 strongest clans (determined by contribution to society: culture, science and military strength) were allowed to send representatives to the new Vampire Council. These 7 would represent the best interests of Vampire Clans across Nomoria.
The New Order however, had other consequences as the Galactic Community looked less favorably upon planet Nomoria and trade became less frequent. Individual clans formed their own relations in the inter-galactic community with Alexa Vires clan being one of the most highly regarded due to Alexa having come to the military aid of other planetary nations over the years.
